INTERNATIONAL SALES MANAGER / DIRECTOR (Maternity Cover)

Independent publisher Profile Books is looking for an experienced International Sales Manager/Director to join for a 12-month maternity contract. The position will be open from early September.  Reporting to the Sales Director, the International Sales Manager/Director is responsible for all Profile’s export sales across all imprints.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of export sales in a trade publishing environment with broad market knowledge. They will be confident of working with customers, sales reps, authors, colleagues and have excellent negotiation, presentation and organisational skills. The ability to work autonomously with energy and enthusiasm to consistently grow Profile’s sales and title range throughout the export markets is essential.

As International Sales Manager/Director you’ll manage the global sales of a highly regarded list across all imprints (Profile Books, Serpent’s Tail, Souvenir Press, Wellcome Collection, The Economist, Sort Of Books) into all export markets, including Ireland. You’ll be responsible for all export sales and budgets, work closely with marketing and publicity to plan international campaigns, oversee all export-related logistics, help to manage stock and reprints as well as successfully negotiate deals, prices and contracts across the international markets. You’ll manage and develop Profile’s excellent relationships with our export sales agents and representatives as well as work directly with key international distributors and retailers.

The position requires attendance at the Frankfurt and London Book Fairs as well as international travel to key markets to present at sales conferences and customer meetings, if the fairs happen and international travel opens up again.
