Do you have a demonstrable interest in Women’s Health and an understanding of the key topics in this area? Do you have experience of evaluating peer review feedback and reviewing revised manuscripts? If so, this fantastic opportunity to join an important not-for-profit organisation which puts women and girls’ health and wellbeing at the heart of their initiatives, could be the next step in your editorial career. This is a hybrid role working seven days a month in the office.

You will have solid experience of strategic journal development, preferably medical or scientific, and a good understanding of the Open Access landscape. Candidates will need to have excellent written and spoken communications skills; first class organisational and administrative experience and the ability to work under pressure using your own initiative and as a collaborative team member.

Reporting to the Head of Publishing, you will assist in editing and developing this journal and other supplemental publications. If hired at Senior Development Editor level, the role will take a proactive approach to developing and driving forward journal strategy. • Developing the quality of the journal through commissioning and strategic development activities

  • Assessment of revision quality and liaison with authors and Editor-in-Chief/Associate Editors
  • Minute-taking at the Editorial Board and Publications Management Board meetings
  • Occasional proofreading, copyediting, and copywriting may be required

This is a great role for a candidate looking to build their journal development experience within scientific publishing and could also be ideal for an experienced journal development editor looking to step up to a Senior Development Editor position.
