We have a fabulous new role for a Journal Development Editor to work for a highly respected online medical journal. This is an ideal role for someone who is looking to develop their journals publishing career and who is looking for more responsibility. This role can be worked on a flexible hybrid basis remote basis, working 1 day a week from their lovely Cambridge office and 4 days a week from home.
Reporting to the Chief Editor, the role of Journal Development Editor will work directly with senior editorial management on the efficient management and strategic development of the journal. This role will also involve regular analysis and reporting of key journal metrics to assess performance and development decisions.
The role of Journal Development Editor will also include progressing initiatives and developments and will identify potential new initiatives or subject areas to strengthen the journal’s position within the market sector. The role will work closely with the Editorial Office as required, to help manage an efficient and author-friendly peer-review process.
This is a fabulous new and varied role, ideal for someone with relevant journals experience and someone who is looking for a new role within journals publishing. The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level in a life science subject and have demonstrable proven experience of driving forward the strategic direction of a journal, and a solid understanding of how scientific journals operate, how they can be developed, how to harness the subject experts to improve the impact factor and what the impact of Open Access will be.
Your interactive, team-working and analytical skills should be second to none and excellent written and verbal English language skills are a must.
