Junior Editor (Adult)

A popular publisher of children's and adult books is looking for a well-organised Editorial candidate to join their fantastic and friendly team in green Northamptonshire as a Junior Editor for their Adult titles. In this role, you will work on a portfolio of highly illustrated books across multiple formats. High attention to detail is key for this role, as the successful candidate will be ensuring that all products fit the house style, run on schedule and to budget, and are of a high quality.

As a Junior Editor, you will be responsible for:

  • Researching, writing copies, copy-editing and perform a range of editorial tasks across different formats and for different age ranges
  • Managing own projects from concept to final approval and liaising with external collaborators (illustrators, agents, authors) throughout the project
  • Ensuring all project files meet standards for editorial accuracy and quality throughout the publishing process
  • Commissioning and coordinating external contributors, including illustrators, licensors and freelance agents

The ideal candidate will be characterised by excellent communication skills, a love for books and a great problem-solving attitude. Applicants must have a solid understanding of the editorial process and have a good people skills.
