Junior Editors (Lebanon)
Are you looking for your first role in publishing? Do you want to immerse yourself in the exciting world of publishing whilst also discovering and experiencing life in another country?
We are looking for several Junior Editors who have a passion for publishing and education and a desire to be the best at what they do. You will work well in a team and have good degree in English, Modern Languages, Science or Maths from a UK university or equivalent. You will be trained and work alongside experienced editors and will have the opportunity to become an editorial specialist in your subject area of either English as a Foreign Language or Maths & Science.
You will join the publisher in their Lebanon office just outside of Beirut, with access to the city, the mountains and the coast. Flight costs will be covered and shared accommodation is provided.
The Person
We are looking for academically focussed individuals with a passion for education and a strong academic background in English, Modern Languages, Maths or Science and some experience teaching and/or with an editorial publishing department. However, editorial training will be provided, so as long as you have first-class verbal and written communication skills, an excellent eye for detail and willingness to relocate, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to launch your publishing career.
The Role
You will be joining a friendly editorial team as a junior editor and will be working on a range of educational text books for the Middle East schools market. You will receive editorial training and ultimately become responsible for editing textbooks for the primary and secondary Arab world schools markets. You will learn copy-editing, proofreading and content editing skills and will edit and revise content in accordance with specific guidelines. You will learn about the publishing process from delivery of manuscript through to final publication and you will work closely with other teams, including colleagues in design and production. You will use your interpersonal and relationship building skills when contributing in meetings with internal teams and external clients and education experts.
This opportunity is offered as a two year training contract and the package includes flights and accommodation.
