Key Account Manager

Working with the very best authors, photographers and stylists, Ryland Peters & Small and CICO Books produce award-winning, outstandingly beautiful, highly illustrated non-fiction books on interiors, cookery, craft, children’s, MBS, stationery, gift and humour. We are looking for an organized, enthusiastic and ambitious Key Account Manager to cover maternity leave.

Being responsible for making budget, the ideal candidate would have experience in key accounts, excellent relationships and selling skills, would have strong awareness of retail and consumer trends and would be a confident negotiator and presenter. Based in the central London offices, the role also includes attendance at books fairs and some travel within the UK.

Your main duties will include:

• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key UK trade accounts to achieve budget for the financial year
• Meeting key customers and pushing both front and backlist books
• Negotiating promotional deals with customers
• Working closely with publicity and marketing to implements plans for customers and books
• Create and implement strategies for key accounts for both backlist and frontlist
• Create bespoke product, if applicable for the customer
• Managing the UK Sales Executive and the UK Sales Assistant

Ideal skills required:

• Highly motivated and organised
• Existing relationships with key accounts
• Ideally some experience having worked on Amazon previously
• Excellent presentation and negotiating skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of the illustrated non-fiction market (desirable but not essential)
