Key National Account Manager

Our client, a renowned independent children’s publishing house has asked us exclusively to help them recruit an experienced Key Account Manager to manage their leading UK national and key accounts on a 6 month contract.

Your account base will be the leading book retail chains and wholesalers and other similar large multiple non-traditional accounts. This role offers a broad variety of account management work as each account is very different.

The Key Account Manager reports to the Head of Sales, you’ll be selling a varied range of well-known children’s trade books.

Please see below an overview of the role;

  • Maintain & growing sales, managing relationships with a large & varied account base
  • Develop strong knowledge of the publishing list, both frontlist & backlist
  • Have good knowledge of customers’ businesses, proactively identify needs/solutions
  • Understand the industry sector, having knowledge of competitor titles & campaigns
  • Communicate customer, competitor & other market intelligence feedback
  • Achieve targets
  • Actively seek new sales development opportunities
  • Build relationships across internal departments to ensure business goals are met

We would like to hear from publishing sales candidates with good key account sales experience esp within the book trade, if you also have good experience in related non-traditional sales then that would be useful in this role too.

An excellent salary is on offer, you’ll be based in London within reach of the national train and tube networks.
