Lead Architect

A leading Academic Publisher based in Yorkshire is seeking a Lead Architect responsible for making technology work effectively across their business.

The Lead Architect will develop a flexible and robust enterprise architecture which leverages assets to create product and service propositions. Managing a small team of Architects, this role will ensure that architecture is an effective enabler of application and infrastructure development through the provision of architectural guidelines, design principles and toolkits.

The Lead Architect will have a core responsibility for compliance and risk mitigation through specific expertise in cyber-security. They will participate in value chain processes that include business and product owners to help design and specify solutions and architecture. They will also in participate agile ceremonies as part of a cross-functional and self-organising team. They take shared responsibility to ensure that delivered solutions are fit for purpose, reliable, and secure.

Knowledge of architectural framework development and implementation is essential, including knowledge of Information Security frameworks such as NIST or ISO27001. You will have an in depth knowledge of IT industry best practices, technologies and architecture as well as a broad understanding of Agile, Scrum and Kanban methodologies. Strong communication, organisation and planning skills are essential alongside experience in business strategy development.
