Senior Rights Executive/Rights Manager

Little Tiger is looking for a creative, confident rights professional with at least three years’ experience to join their rights team, managing fiction rights.

You will be working on both successful rights brands and launching new series and YA titles in translation, audio, Film and TV, so you will need to be flexible, meticulous and organised, with excellent sales skills.

You will have a strong interest in both the children’s fiction market and in international publishing. Little Tiger fiction titles have been sold into over 40 languages and so you will be an ambitious person with a strong commercial outlook who is ready to take the next step in your career.

Key responsibilities

  • Key account management in all global markets
  • Building on existing customer relationships and developing new business in all territories
  • Negotiating and fulfilment of all deals from offer stage to royalty statements, including drafting contracts
  • Developing market analysis and strategies for both key and underperforming markets
  • Management of co-agents in certain territories
  • Managing co-edition sales for colour titles, including fulfilment
  • Attending London, Bologna and Frankfurt book fairs and territory-specific sales trips (post-Covid)
  • Management of the fiction imprint’s rights budget
  • Negotiating and developing audio, film and TV deals across the list

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • 3+ years publishing experience, preferably within rights or sales
  • Excellent interpersonal, sales and negotiation skills and a strong commercial awareness
  • Interest and experience in business and partnership development
  • Highly organised with the ability to efficiently work with both internal and external colleagues in a busy environment
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office applications – Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • A keen interest and experience in audio, film and TV is also desirable.

This is a full-time role which will be based at our office in Fulham, London, once it is safe to return. The salary and job title will be dependent on the level of experience.
