Key Account Manager, Maternity Cover

Your team:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the UK Sales team and to work on some of the biggest author brands in the UK, working closely with several of our biggest supermarket customers. You will work across all of Pan Macmillan’s imprints across Children’s and Adult publishing.

Your role:
As a Key Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our UK Sales team. Working closely with the Sales Manager and Sales Director, you will help maintain and grow our business with our supermarket accounts, including Asda, Morrisons and Waitrose.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Drive and surpass financial targets for Key Accounts, including profit margins, sales volumes, returns management, and expenditure.

  • Perform detailed sales forecasting and offer continuous feedback on titles for Key Accounts to optimize performance.

  • Collaborate closely with the Sales Director to develop and action author strategies.

  • Provide actionable market insights to inform and enhance publishing strategies, ensuring they align with current trends and demands.

  • Provide specialized ‘Federal’ sales assistance to the Sales Director, focusing on the Pan Fiction imprints to maximize market reach and profitability.

Essential experience, abilities and knowledge you’ll need to succeed:

  • Demonstrable experience working for a publisher in Sales or operational support

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong presentation and communications skills

  • Experience of managing complex sales processes and spreadsheets

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel

Desirable skills we’d love you to have:

  • An innate passion for books and staying on top of the newest reading trends

  • Experience working with supermarket accounts

Salary starting from: £37,000

This is a 12 month fixed-term role, and will be based in our offices in Farringdon, London, with some flexibility to work from home each week.
