Managing Development Editor

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world renowned ELT publishing company as their Managing Development Editor, to work remotely with visits to the company's Hampshire office a minimum of twice per month. This role offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits.

As the Managing Development Editor, you will be responsible for the entire life cycle of a product, managing the project team and coordinating with cross-departmental stakeholders to take customer needs from concept to launch, working to deadline whilst retaining high product quality, for print and digital ELT products from pre-school to adult. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Briefing, overseeing and supporting the in-house editors, managing authors, freelance editors and other external partners
  • Content quality assurance project management, including scheduling, budget tracking and planning and conducting qualitative and quantitative research
  • Project managing complex, multi-level and multi-component products to deadline and budget.

To be successful in this pivotal role as Managing Development Editor, you will ideally be educated to degree level (or equivalent), with experience of project managing within ELT publishing and people management. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised, pro-active individual with experience of the ELT market to run a highly successful editorial team.
