Managing Editor 12 Month FTC

We have a super new role for an experienced journals editor to join a successful STM publisher to drive journal development and content commissioning and grow an assigned list of journals. This is initially a 12 month FTC.  This is an ideal role for someone who is looking to broaden their experience in journal publishing.

The Managing Editor will be responsible for developing a list of journals by building high performing editorial boards and identifying and delivering the journal’s strategic needs.  Working with the wider journals team, this role will build citations and relevance of published content and will run and use reports from the peer review system to drive development plans and improvement strategies.  The role will also involve working with the marketing team to ensure that journals are promoted through relevant channels and you will have the opportunity to represent the company at scientific conferences as required.

This is a highly important role for the team and the successful person will have proven experience in managing a list of journals, ideally with experience or an understanding of Open Access.  You will have a sound knowledge of publishing processes, strong time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines and a high degree of literacy and numeracy.
