Managing Editor

We are excited to be working on the recruitment of the new Managing Editor for a prestigious society publisher in London.

This is a full time permanent role, responsible for the performance of their portfolio of STM peer reviewed journals including quality, relevance and impact factor. Some of these journals are published in partnership with an academic press and the Managing Editor will act as the main point of contact between the society and the press. You will also be the main point of contact for the Editor of Chief for each journal and so stakeholder management and communication skills are crucially important for this role as well as genuine interest in developing and improving journal performance.

You will combine your experience of working with peer-reviewed content with your strategic view of the research publishing industry to drive the development of the portfolio, while adapting to the emerging needs of authors and researchers.

We are looking for strong editorial candidates with a background in a relevant subject area (biomedical, pharma or life sciences), and with experience running the editorial office of high profile journals. Knowledge of submission systems such as ScholarOne is preferable.
