Managing Editor

Inspired Selection is exclusively recruiting a Managing Editor for a prestigious scientific society based in London. The role is paying £40k - £45k depending on experience.

The Managing Editor will be responsible for the performance of their portfolio of peer reviewed journals including quality, relevance and impact factor. The journals are published in partnership with global Academic press and you will be the main point of contact between the society and publisher. You will also be the main point of contact for the Editor of Chief for each journal and so stakeholder management and communication skills are crucially important for this role as well as genuine interest in developing and improving journal performance.

Experience:

You will combine your experience of working with peer-reviewed content with your strategic view of the research publishing industry to drive the development of our portfolio -which includes 4 journals to ensure the RPS continues to improve and grow the portfolio while adapting to the emerging needs of authors and researchers.

We are also looking for someone with experience in developing Open Access journals and strategy.

What we need

• Experience in running the editorial office of a high profile STM journal
• Experience with ScholarOne online submission system
• Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
• Excellent communication skills
