Managing Editor/Senior Editor - Children's Books

Are you passionate about children’s books?  Would you like to work in a dynamic and creative team?  We have a lovely role for an experienced children’s Editor to head up a highly successful creative team in young children’s books.

The Managing Editor/Senior Editor will work very closely with the Publisher and the Design Manager to plan and oversee their international publishing programme, including editing and overseeing all publishing projects, and will manage the internal creative team and freelancers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the editorial and design content and ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget
  • Create and oversee all book plans
  • Liaise with international editorial teams
  • Work with production to ensure correct pricing is provided and delivery times are accurate
  • Ensure sales material is correct and that international requirements are completed to correct deadlines

The ideal person will be an experienced Editor from a pre-school publishing background.  Experience with novelty books would be an advantage.  You will have some experience of managing a small team and you will have the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.  An eye for detail is essential as is strategic and commercial awareness. This role requires a highly motivated individual who is creative, hardworking and organised.
