Managing Editor - Educational Publishing

Redwood is working with a highly successful, market leading educational publishing company based in Ireland to recruit an experienced and highly motivated Managing Editor to take responsibility for all technical editorial and design queries on their Primary and Post Primary titles.  Reporting to the CEO/Publisher, the Managing Editor will run their own projects and take an active involvement with editorial queries, and will also assist with developing marketing collaterals.

This is an exciting position for someone with a passion for educational publishing, who is looking for increased responsibility and a broader role. The successful person will have sufficient proven experience in a similar role within educational publishing with strong copyediting and proofreading skills and a strong eye for detail and design.  You will have solid project management experience, be solution driven, with the energy to deal with editorial queries from a small team of project editors. The ability to recognise and develop clear, concise, well-written and grammatically correct material is essential.  The Managing Editor will be able to work independently and manage their own workload efficiently and work to tight deadlines in a demanding environment during peak publishing cycles. You will have strong IT skills, great organisation and communication skills with a creative and methodical approach to your work.
