We are handling 2 Managing Editor vacancies due to an internal promotion and Maternity leave, both are permanent posts.

Manging Editor - 1

Due to an internal promotion, a rare opportunity has arisen for a Managing Editor to join a very successful children’s & adult book publisher to work on their growing licensing & brand books division.

Reporting to the Publisher, the Managing Editor will play an active part in helping to create new book ideas as well as commissioning and acquiring new titles and developing great relationships with authors, agents and contributors.

This exciting role includes overseeing the creation of books and managing the work in progress across the editorial team, ensuring all projects are produced to the quality required and on schedule. You’ll also project-manage and editorially guide the creation of branded and licensed books.

We are looking for someone with good hands-on editorial project management skills and experience as well as ability to write creatively, copyedit, proofread, research and has excellent editorial standards and is able to work with your colleagues within the team in an informal style.

This particular role has arisen due the jobholder not returning full-time from Maternity leave.

We are looking for experienced Editorial candidates for the growing pop culture adult Film/TV division which includes illustrated fiction/non-fiction and some gaming titles.  

As Managing Editor you’ll manage all aspects of the creation of books as well as overseeing the work in progress across the editorial team as well as editorial and design freelancers, ensuring all projects are produced to the high quality required and on schedule. You’ll also be working regularly with your colleagues including, design, sales, marketing as well as publicity.

We are looking for someone with good hands-on editorial and project management skills and experience as well as ability to write creatively, copyedit, proofread, research and has excellent editorial standards.
