We are very excited to be recruiting for the acquisition and development team of a world-leading academic publisher! They are looking to appoint a Market Development Executive to help them grow their textbook programme through insightful market research and the creation of an adoptions pipeline. This is an editorial role, that will work closely with a team of Commissioning Editors and Content Development Editors to identify market strategies for assigned textbook projects. The role can be entirely home-based, or partially in the London office.

Key responsibilities:

  • Creating market development plans for own titles and lists, identifying key objectives and possible challenges to overcome
  • Carrying out tailored development strategies through a mix of activities such as SWOT analysis, focus groups and surveys
  • Assessing key titles' coverage of relevant courses, trying to identify possible gaps and adoptions opportunities
  • Engaging with customers to develop messaging around assigned lists

The ideal candidate will have some experience in market research or consumer insight, preferably within the publishing industry, and able to carry out accurate desk research and communicate complex data in a clear and digestible way. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the higher education sector, and who will bring some great ideas and energy to the team.
