Account Manager - Guardian Bookshop

A rare opportunity has become available to join our team as the account manager for the Guardian Bookshop, the successful online bookshop run on behalf of the Guardian News and Media Group. In this varied role, you will oversee the performance of the Guardian Bookshop; curating product listings, managing the relationship with the Guardian, delivering a cross-channel marketing plan and ultimately driving online sales growth.

Twice shortlisted for the prestigious Book Retailer of the Year award, Monwell may be a small company, but we’re experts in what we do and we need someone who can harness the full potential of our longest running online bookshop. We are looking for a smart and confident professional with a background in digital marketing and/or ecommerce to join our team in this central role.

Using your well-developed marketing and copywriting skills and knowledge of books, you will leverage all the channels at our disposal to deliver against sales targets. This is a wide-ranging role and will suit a candidate who is able to work quickly, is meticulously organised and has an open and proactive communication style.

As a member of our small and dynamic team, you will need to be digitally savvy and be as comfortable navigating an ecommerce dashboard as you are writing email newsletters and briefing digital design assets. You will develop and implement ecommerce strategies in order to maximise sales, improve conversion and deepen our relationships with our customers.

We are a fully remote team based across the South of England, so the ability to work from home or a co-working space is essential.

  • Liaise with Gardners on promotional discounts for campaign books

Marketing

  • Work with the Head of Marketing to develop campaigns that will help achieve the marketing goals. Identify the best channels and activities to promote each campaign
  • Responsible for overseeing the Guardian Bookshop content plan, meticulously managing and forward planning every aspect of the marketing mix

  • Manage email marketing channels, including list management, sending, reporting and testing
  • Work creatively to develop new marketing and sales opportunities
