Digital Marketing Executive

Nosy Crow is an award-winning independent children’s book publisher and we’ve recently celebrated our 10th birthday. We’re currently looking for a digital marketing executive to join our digital team. Reporting into the Digital Marketing Manager, you’ll help us manage our day-to-day digital marketing as well as plan marketing campaigns for some of our key titles. Nosy Crow publishes books for age 0 to 12 and you’d be working across the full range of the list: baby books, non-fiction, picture books, children’s fiction and more.

We welcome applications from anyone who already has some digital marketing experience and is keen to level up. You could be a digital/marketing assistant at another book publisher or a digital marketing executive with experience outside the industry who dreams of working in publishing. So if you’re passionate about books and know about digital marketing, we would love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities

  • Be in charge of the social calendar across all the Nosy Crow social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest). This includes scheduling posts and community management.
  • Update the website with curated lists, blog posts, look-inside features and more
  • Create and plan campaigns for our key titles including advertising and any organic activity. You’ll be presenting your campaigns to the editorial team as well as the authors and agents.
  • Create content for our social media channels, email newsletters, website, advertising and more. You’ll be designing some of these assets yourself.
  • Writing design briefs for complex digital assets such as animated graphics and book trailers which will be created by the marketing design assistant
  • Contribute ideas to brainstorm sessions when we start to work on the marketing and PR campaigns. You’ll be working closely with them as well to promote events and make use of other marketing materials
  • Film and edit video content such as author interviews, readings, virtual events and more
  • Work closely with the sales team to provide content that helps our retailers drive sales
  • Carry out admin tasks such as setting up Stories Aloud, iBooks, responding to customer queries via email and more.

What we’re looking for

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. We do have a marketing design assistant on the team but you will be expected to create some assets yourself.
  • Photography skills that mean you can create beautiful shots for Instagram and use on other places.
  • Some experience planning digital marketing campaigns
  • Basic filming and video-editing skills
  • You’ll know how to create different types of content, from photography to writing blog posts, and deliver high quality every time.  Experience using a Content Management System is essential.
  • While you don’t need to have been in charge of large social communities before, you’ll be confident responding to queries as well as scheduling posts adopting the Nosy Crow voice.
  • Creativity in abundance!
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple books/projects at the same time as we publish over 100 books every year.

At the moment we’re all working remotely but we’re slowly returning to the office, and we all expect to be in 3 days per week from January 2022. Our office is located in central London, close to Borough Market and London Bridge station.

How to apply

Please email your CV, accompanied by not more than 500 words on what you think you could contribute to Nosy Crow, and if  you have any examples of campaigns or digital design you’ve done in the past, please feel free to include them.  Please send to Felicity Culley (felicity@nosycrow.com).  We really look forward to reading your application.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 7th November 2021.

The successful candidate must have the right to live and work in the UK.
