Office and HR Administrator

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, organised, and personable individual to join us as an Office and HR Administrator on a full-time basis. Nosy Crow is a multi-award winning, independent children’s publishing company with operations in both the UK and the USA. We make child-focused, parent-friendly children’s books for ages 0-12

The Office and HR Administrator reports to our HR and Office Manager and will play an essential role in the day-to-day running of the office.

This is a full-time position and due to the requirements of the role, we will require the successful candidate to work from our office near to London Bridge 5 days per week. The successful candidate will have the right to live and work in the UK.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform reception duties by being the first point of contact for all visitors including couriers, cleaners, IT support, and our security company among others. The Office and HR Administrator will also be the first point of contact for all phone enquiries.
  • Maintain the office condition on a day to day basis and organise any repairs and scheduled maintenance under the supervision of the HR and Office Manager.
  • Ordering of all office consumables including branded stationary and manage online ordering through Amazon etc and ensure office equipment is in good working order, including printers and kitchen apparatus.
  • Coordinate the post by opening and distributing incoming mail and sending outgoing mail.
  • Deputise for the HR and Office Manager on health and safety related matters.
  • Distribute petty cash where appropriate and keep accurate records.
  • Performing general HR administration tasks such as assisting the recruitment process by placing adverts and scheduling interviews, ordering birthday chocolates, updating employee records, recording data etc.
  • Assisting the HR and Office Manager with the induction process for new starters.
  • Provide general office administrative support to the business.

Key Skills, characteristics and capabilities:

  • Experience in office administration.
  • Experience in an HR environment is preferable but not essential.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working with little direction at times.
  • Friendly with a can-do attitude.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Environmentally aware and cost conscious.
  • A collaborative and co-operative approach.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills.

The starting salary range for this role will be between £28,000 - £30,000 depending on experience.
