Sales Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, organised, and confident individual to join our expanding UK sales department which covers all online, special sales, supermarkets, high street accounts and all our lovely indie bookshops. Nosy Crow is a multi-award winning, independent children’s publishing company with operations in both the UK and the USA. We make child-focused, parent-friendly children’s books for ages 0-12.

The successful candidate will report to the Head of UK Sales and support the team across the full range of accounts. You’ll be working across our entire list from board and novelty books to 11+ fiction.

We are a busy and dynamic team, and we value the experience and creative input that we can each provide.  You’ll need to be flexible, determined, with a keen eye for detail, and good at working as part of a team.

This is a full-time position. This is a hybrid role, working 3 days per week in our office near to London Bridge. The successful candidate will have the right to live and work in the UK.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting the UK Sales team across a range of accounts, including data analysis and support for customer meetings
  • Supporting the Sales & Marketing Director with managing their calendar, assisting with travel, trips and running sales reports as required.
  • Assisting with preparing presentations, AI’s and other sales material.
  • Oversee book mailings and sample requests across the UK Sales team.
  • Managing schedules and organizing meetings as required.
  • Liaising with our operations teams and Nosy Crow’s distributors, Harper Collins LTD, to ensure efficient processing of customer orders.
  • Attending Trade Fairs and Gift Fairs as required.
  • Working with the PR and Marketing teams to ensure the Sales team are kept up to date with campaigns.

Key Skills, Characteristics and Capabilities:

  • Previous experience working in publishing sales is ideal but not essential.
  • A very close eye for detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills plus the ability to write persuasive copy.
  • Experience working with sales data and Excel for sales analysis.
  • Confidence in building and maintaining relationships both internally and with customers.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and deadlines in a busy and fast paced environment.
  • Willingness to be fully involved in our busy and fun office.
  • A keen interest in children’s books

The successful candidate will have the right to live and work in the UK.

The starting salary for this role will be between £27,000.
