Sales Executive

Wise Music Group is one of the World’s leading music publishers, owning and managing over 200,000 popular and classical music copyrights. The Group is privately owned by one family over several generations, and the UK Head Office is situated in London, in the West End.

Omnibus Press, the book publishing division of the Group, has been publishing books about music for 50 years.  With approximately 30 new titles a year and over 500 backlist titles in print, it is the market leader in the field and continues to publish genre defining books covering all musical styles.


The Sales Executive supports the Commercial Director in the delivery of the annual revenue budget across all channels, principally through sales generation, account management and customer service.

Key Objectives:

  1. To manage and develop Omnibus Press’ existing trade accounts whilst pursuing new business leads and sales opportunities

  2.  To work with the Commercial Director & Marketing Executive on developing Omnibus Press’ eCommerce website and its consumer database

  3. To establish strong, lasting business relationships with our authors, artists, promoters and 3rd party publishers alike

    To manage and develop Omnibus Press’ existing trade accounts whilst pursuing new business leads and sales opportunities


  • Sales presentations to key accounts and specialist resellers, distributors and representatives
  • Key account order processing and account management 
  • Trade customer services and distributor liaison
  • New business lead generation  
  • Promoter, literary festival and retail event manager liaison
  • 3rd party publisher sales and inventory reporting  
  • 3rd party publisher relationship management
  • Author and artist liaison for sales and event/travel support
  • Represent the company at events and launches
  • Weekly collaboration with the wider team on front list publicity & marketing campaigns
  • Regular publicity updates to wholesalers and key accounts
  • Provide PR administration support and process review copy orders
  • Metadata administration across all trade data feeds
  • Process D2C orders and maintain an excellent customer service level to Omnibus Press’ direct customer base
  • back office administration
  • General publishing administration duties to support the wider business


Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in publishing
  • Educated to degree level preferred but not essential


  • Good understanding of book trade operations
  • Working knowledge of Nielsen Title Data & Amazon Advantage
  • A keen interest in music and contemporary artists would be a distinct advantage

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to work calmly across numerous tasks at the same time
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team


Core working hours are 0930 to 1730 Monday to Friday, however you will need to be flexible and able to work additional hours as required ensuring deadlines are met.
