Operations & Research Manager (Open Access)
Key duties:
- Facilitate the delivery of Open Access under the direction of the OA Publisher
- Manage the Open Access Coordinator and provide support to Editorial colleagues in launching and developing OA journals
- Support the Sales team in developing OA sales deal models, implementing process and workflow changes as required
- Establish and maintain relationships both internally and externally (funders, librarians, authors)
- Contribute to the Open Access infrastructure and technology roadmap cross-departmentally
- Build and share research into the OA landscape, key developments and competitor activity, reporting on current and future performance
- Take part in technology projects to improve author, funder and librarian experiences
Experience / skills required:
- Prior experience in Journal publishing and knowledge of Open Access is essential
- Solid numerical skills and experience working with large amounts of data
- The ability to read and interpret financial data
- Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle a busy and varied workload
- Excellent communication, negotiation and team-working skills
- Commercial, industry and market awareness
