Operations & Research Manager (Open Access)

Key duties:

• Facilitate the delivery of Open Access under the direction of the OA Publisher
• Manage the Open Access Coordinator and provide support to Editorial colleagues in launching and developing OA journals
• Support the Sales team in developing OA sales deal models, implementing process and workflow changes as required
• Establish and maintain relationships both internally and externally (funders, librarians, authors)
• Contribute to the Open Access infrastructure and technology roadmap cross-departmentally
• Build and share research into the OA landscape, key developments and competitor activity, reporting on current and future performance
• Take part in technology projects to improve author, funder and librarian experiences

Experience / skills required:

• Prior experience in Journal publishing and knowledge of Open Access is essential
• Solid numerical skills and experience working with large amounts of data
• The ability to read and interpret financial data
• Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle a busy and varied workload
• Excellent communication, negotiation and team-working skills
• Commercial, industry and market awareness
