The Education Division provides books and resources across Primary & Secondary school markets and Children's trade & home markets, both for the UK and for customers around the world. We are passionately committed to our mission to educate and inspire through book, board and screen.
 
The Rights team currently comprises a team of seven who are responsible for selling the Division’s content rights around the world. Our list includes children’s picture books, fiction and learning at home books, dictionaries, readers, primary and secondary school books and digital resource.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently looking to recruit a bright and focused sales motivated individual to play a key role in our high-achieving team and contribute to our business by growing subsidiary rights income from our publishing.  The role requires travel abroad (when travel recommences) and has the potential to develop into a more senior role for the right candidate interested in working closely with the Head of Rights to manage the Rights team’s activity.

ABOUT YOU

You are currently responsible for selling rights internationally (licensing and co-editions), devising your own sales strategies and tactics, identifying sales opportunities from an expansive content list, meeting your revenue targets. You are highly organised, adaptable, resilient and self-sufficient with the ability to manage a varied workload in a competitive environment, being prepared to travel as required. You have a pro-active, smart and positive approach to problem solving and closing sales, as well as excellent communication skills.

In addition you:

  • have experience and knowledge of children’s book & school/educational publishing
  • have experience in all things Rights
  • can demonstrate a successful track record of closing and growing sales; meeting sales targets; finding and forming long-standing fruitful relationships with international partners
  • can demonstrate business acumen alongside effective people and communication skills
  • seek and strive for smooth business process administration and organisation
