Senior Production Controller

This is a great opportunity to work on a wide range of Children’s Trade books. The ideal candidate will be managing the fiction/nonfiction mono list and several exclusive editions, some of 4c. titles and their equivalent digital and audio versions.

We’re looking for an experienced individual who has strong organisation and communication skills and who is able to work to tight deadlines and be able to prioritise the workload.

 Main Tasks:

- Ensure products are produced within budget, negotiating prices with suppliers.
- Run costings, ensuring commercial decisions are made using the most accurate information.
- Manage schedules from pre-press through to delivery, ensuring effective communication to all stakeholders.
- Check InDesign files before sending files to repro houses.
- Manage file archiving process.
- Maintain accurate records and data within the production system.
- Maintain communication and lead progress meetings with the appropriate creative team.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience:

- Negotiating effectively with suppliers and establishing good working relationships.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously and be familiar with book subscription club exclusive editions.
- Good knowledge of mono and 4c book production.
- Working with multiple stakeholders. 

Skills required:

- Ability to manage mono titles, ebooks and audio
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Good numerical skills
- Ability to work autonomously, but also ask for help with solving problems, escalating as necessary
- Understanding of InDesign/print pdfs 

This is a full time, permanent role, and will be based in our office in Farringdon, London with some flexibility to work from home each week.

Salary starting from: £33,000
