Peer Review Coordinator

We have a new role with a wonderful charity publisher of scientific journals, who are looking to appoint a Peer Review Coordinator to oversee the peer review process for two established publications. The role will be based in their London office, with partial homeworking available.

The Peer Review Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the peer review process runs smoothly, checking for ethics issues and suggesting changes to optimise the process in line with industry best practice
  • Checking that manuscripts comply with journal policy
  • Assisting the journals editors through the acceptance and/or rejection process of submissions
  • Liaising with a team of Senior Editors and editorial boards
  • Checking editorial reports and prepare relevant decision letters
  • Processing accepted submissions for the production process
  • Working closely with Senior Editors, Publishers and Editor-in-Chief, overseeing the smooth transition of manuscripts through to production and publication

We are looking for someone with good administrative background in an academic publishing environment, preferably related to Life Sciences, and who is very accurate and with strong writing skills.
