Head of Brand - James Patterson, Cornerstone

Can you lead large-scale, multi-platform campaigns and drive sales growth for the world’s leading fiction brand?

Penguin Random House have an exciting role available for a passionate and talented senior marketer or brand expert to maximise the sales and marketing potential of the James Patterson brand in the UK and international territories.

In this role, you will be responsible for: delivering top-tier marketing and promotional campaigns across James Patterson’s publishing programme; driving brand awareness and audience acquisition via consumer insight and community management; as well as leading industry-wide initiatives and maintaining James Patterson’s reputation for innovation in the digital space.

Working alongside and reporting to the Marketing Director you will also lead the cross-function Patterson team, co-ordinating internal stakeholders as well as Group companies outside of the UK, to deliver a cohesive brand message and vision and to ensure consistent delivery of sales targets across the programme. You will also line manage one member of the team.

The successful candidate will have a strong marketing or brand-management background, ideally with a comparable high-profile, commercial brand. You will be an innovative thinker and leader who is able to deliver effective campaigns to tight deadlines, with excellent attention-to-detail, time and project management skills and the ability to set priorities and direction and bring people with you. You’ll also be a confident presenter with exceptional interpersonal and client and senior stakeholder management skills, as well as being able to demonstrate ingenuity and initiative. High commercial awareness of the market and competition, particularly in the crime and thriller category, and the ability to understand how to best maximise the James Patterson brand with a wide range of partners will be key.

The role sits within the Cornerstone marketing team. Cornerstone is home to some of the biggest global brands and authors including James Patterson, E.L. James, Harlan Coben, Lisa Jewell, Taylor Jenkins Reid and Robert Harris to name just a few.
