Marketing Manager, Michael Joseph

Michael Joseph, a leading commercial fiction and non-fiction imprint of Penguin Random House is seeking a proactive and collaborative Marketing Manager to work on their bestselling titles, whether breaking the very latest authors to expanding the readership of household names like Marian Keyes, Jojo Moyes, Gregg Hurwitz, Giovanna Fletcher and Stephen Fry. 

Reporting to the Marketing Director, you will create from scratch marketing campaigns that turn heads, wow readers and make unmissable bestsellers that everyone is talking about. You will manage all aspect of campaign strategy, execution and campaign analysis. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns for a range of our fiction and non-fiction authors, utilising the full media mix. 

  • Analyse consumer data and use it to inform and guide campaigns. 

  • Run your own advertising independently, as well as confidently briefing agencies and freelancers.  

  • Work closely with internal colleagues such as Publicity, Sales and Editorial to align strategy and deadlines. 

  • Represent Penguin Michael Joseph at external meetings with authors and agents. 

  • Prepare and execute pitches and presentations.  

Candidate Profile: 

  • You’ll be creative, strategic and unflappable, experienced in juggling multiple projects, whether working to tight deadlines or planning next year’s award-winning campaign 

  • You’ll have experience of working independently on marketing campaigns and you’ll be familiar with running a range of digital and social media advertising  

  • You’ll have excellent organisational and communication skills, with great attention to detail.  

  • You’ll be a collaborative team player who also enjoys flying solo, while big personalities and ambitious targets will not faze you. 

  • You’ll be commercial and curious, always looking for inspiration from outside and first to utilise changes in digital media and technology within your campaigns  

  • You’ll show us a flare for design, an eye for the perfect presentation and have an ear for compelling copy.

Salary: £31,500 - £34,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
