Production Controller (Quadrille)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Controller to join our Quadrille Production team on a permanent, full-time basis.

We’re looking for a Production Controller to help produce a range of books across our Quadrille list, which is known for its high production values and vibrant design.

The ideal candidate will be organised, detail-oriented, and able to self-motivate. You will be able to communicate clearly and concisely whilst working closely with both in house departments and external suppliers. You will have an understanding of colour reproduction and printing processes.

This role offers a chance to develop a wide range of production skills. It would equally suit a seasoned assistant looking to step up to controller, a controller looking for a fresh challenge or to broaden their skillset.

In this role, you will:

  • Work closely and collaboratively with internal teams across Editorial, Design, Sales, Inventory, Finance as well as external suppliers.

  • Place orders with approved suppliers, ensuring the best cost, service and quality standards, as well as prepare precise technical specs and purchase orders.

  • Prepare and maintain production schedules, manage material transfers and update our systems.

  • Perform quality checks to ensure our products match agreed specifications and maintain up-to-date production files.

  • Oversee our eBook production, approvals and tracking system.

  • Input and maintain logistics details in our systems.

  • Keep in touch with suppliers to build relationships and stay updated on new trends.

  • Attend production meetings and provide progress reports to internal departments and external suppliers.

What you’ll bring:

  • We’re looking for a Production Controller with good experience of colour book production, though we’re open to candidates with mono production experience.

  • You’ll have excellent attention to detail and will be able to demonstrate a calm, positive and flexible approach to your work – even when you’re under pressure.

  • You’ll be a team player but equally happy to work independently on your own initiative.

  • You’re used to managing a busy workload with a track record of successfully delivering to deadlines while meeting the expectations of multiple stakeholders.

  • You’ll be an eager learner with a willingness to adapt with a flexibility to embrace new challenges.

Our approach to hybrid working:

This is a hybrid role, based in our offices in Southwark, as there are activities and meetings that you will need to support in-person. We are happy to discuss hybrid working arrangements with you during your recruitment process.

Please note that over the course of 2024 all of our London-based teams will permanently relocate to our Embassy Gardens office in Nine Elms. We’ll be happy to answer any questions on this as part of the interview process.

Application Deadline: Please apply with your CV and cover letter by Wednesday 7th August.
