An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Publicity Manager/Publicity Manager to join the award-winning, dynamic and collaborative Cornerstone publicity team to cover a period of parental leave.

The Opportunity 

We are looking for an experienced book publicist for a 12-month contract to cover a period of parental leave. Joining a team of 10, this is an opportunity to take responsibility for a number of campaigns working on a mix of established and debut authors.

You will get to work with some of the most creative publishing colleagues in the business, learning from a team of experts in a friendly and inclusive environment that values individuality, champions creativity, and celebrates individual and team successes. You will be involved in every stage of the publishing process from early acquisitions meetings to devising and executing campaign plans and much more.

You can expect to:

  • Independently create, plan and drive strategic media and events campaigns

  • Play a key role in the acquisition of new books, providing PR feedback and contributing to pitches

  • Contribute to the company’s strategic priorities and work closely with its editorial team

  • Communicate effectively with internal departments, including sales and marketing, editorial, rights and international colleagues

  • Maintain and develop excellent relationships with high-profile and influential stakeholders, such as authors, agents, journalists and global publishing partners

What you’ll bring

You’ll have a proven track record of independently producing standout publicity campaigns in a publishing environment. You’ll also:

  • Have established media contacts and be knowledgeable on all forms of media

  • Be highly organised with excellent time management to juggle concurrent campaigns with different lead times

  • Have outstanding communication skills to be able to pitch ideas, report back to authors and agents and produce materials both internally and externally

  • Demonstrate analytical ability and financial awareness for your campaigns

  • Think in innovative ways to create buzz behind our books

What you can expect from us:

We are open to appoint at either Publicity Manager or Senior Publicity Manager level.

Salary: range c. £30,000 - £48,000 dependent on level appointed and how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
