Co-editions and Export Manager

Pi Kids specialises in Children’s Books, with a key focus on electronic sound books, including characters from many of the key Licence groups, including Disney, Nickelodeon, Mattel and Hasbro.

The UK business has been established in London for approximately 20 years and counts many international children’s books publishers as customers.

PI Kids are seeking to appoint a Co-editions and Export Manager to strengthen support for some existing customers and take the business into new markets to broaden distribution of the Phoenix product range and to take advantage of the rapidly changing co-edition and retail market.

PI Kids operates from a Central London Office and offers flexible working arrangements.

Role

Reporting to the General Manager EMEA, the role will be to manage co-editions sales to International publishers, and to sell English language copies via an existing third-party agent into open markets. You’ll also identify new business opportunities, working with the commercial teams globally to build print runs and adapting to suit different customer needs. Export sales from the UK and US will also be included in your remit.

Responsibilities

Visit new and existing customers (approximately 5-7 trips per year plus Bologna and Frankfurt Book Fairs), presenting and developing publishing programmes. Identify new opportunities and grow current business, Forecasting for print runs and P&L’s. Dealing with a customer base which includes co-edition partners, and export accounts.

Attributes

Experience in Co-edition sales and /or licensing. You may already have experience in Sales Management or want to move up in the next stage of your career. Should be familiar with developing co-edition print runs. Could also have experience selling copies into export markets.

Would best suit a self-motivated candidate with the ability to multi-task, excellent communication skills and who is results driven. You must have the ability to work independently as well as part of an international team.

Candidates should ideally have a background in Books, Toys or other entertainment-based format.

Must be conversant with Microsoft Office programmes, especially Excel. SAP and Biblio experience preferred but not essential.
