Editorial Director/Publisher

Post Wave Publishing is a prestigious Chinese publisher. They publish a wide range of adult and children’s titles both originated and translated. They are establishing a UK office to originate English language publications and to publish books in translation.

The role:

We are looking for an experienced editorial lead to take responsibility and control of the UK publishing list. This list is brand new and will reflect Post Wave Publishing values of innovation, quality and originality. We seek someone who is an editorial creative force within children’s books, who has high standards and excellent author and illustrator relationships. They should be experienced in non- fiction illustrated publishing and have a commercial and critically successful track record. They should have a global outlook, be an excellent communicator and have experience of acquisition and editorial strategy. 

Key responsibilities:

To create a successful, children’s publishing list starting with non fiction titles and progressing to picture books and young fiction

To build and cultivate excellent author and illustrator relationships

To lead acquisition and editorial strategy

To own the publishing process delivering titles of quality on budget and on time

To identify opportunities for publishing

To communicate and forge excellent relations with international colleagues

To build and manage an editorial team to support the publishing

We are open to hear from a range of experience levels and will define the role accordingly.  A competitive package is on offer. The role will be based in our new London office, hybrid working and report to Emma Hopkin, Managing Director of Post Wave UK.
