PR Specialist - Books

Are you a PR Specialist looking for a 6 months contract, Our client, a large independent publisher based in London, is looking to appoint a PR Specialist for 4 days per week to join their PR team, working across history, politics and other non-fiction trade publishing. The company offer flexible working from their central London office, and an excellent salary.

This fantastic role will include sales-driven PR campaigns, working closely with the Marketing, Editorial, Sales team. Working in non-traditional areas is a big part of this role. The role requires you to work on local and global campaigns across a varied portfolio, with a particular focus on politics, economics and climate . The PR specialist will be responsible for arranging interviews, assisting with events, broadcasts and online campaign as well as working closely with book reviewers, producers and national media. You will have the chance to think outside the box when planning PR activity for multiple titles.

As the successful PR Specialist you will ideally have demonstrable PR experience and a track record of delivering successful PR campaigns; experience in author care and working with agents is essential. The ideal candidate will have a media database of press contacts, with strong relationships across national press, and broadcast media outlets. Excellent communication skills are a must. You should be adept at writing press releases, trade announcements and other press communications. Juggling multiple tasks at once, you should be able to remain calm under pressure and know how to prioritise. The role might suit someone currently at PR Executive or Press Officer level, looking to take the next step in their career.
