A prestigious trade publisher of visual and illustrated books, based in East London, is seeking an experienced and confident Press Officer. This is an exciting and varied role with responsibility for promoting a prestigious list of Cookery and Arts books to the media, as well as working alongside the Head of Publicity to promote key titles.
Key responsibilities include:
- developing, implementing and managing publicity campaigns,
- Writing press releases and sending out review copies
- Planning and organising author events; and entering books for awards.
- Building relationships with Authors
- Attending meetings with journalists and growing your network
The successful candidate will have solid experience of book publicity and will be highly confident and organised, with the ability to plan and implement creative and innovative media campaigns, organise events and develop excellent press contacts.
You will be a confident communicator, with the ability influence others, and to juggle a busy workload. You will be joining the company just before the autumn season so be prepared for a very busy start! They season is already planned so we are looking in particular for someone who can hit the ground running, keeps organised and thrives in a busy environment.
