Product Manager

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to work for one of the UK’s largest regional media companies, who have an online audience of around 23m+ unique users and consume 120m page views a month across their portfolio of local and national sites.

Based in London, the product team is responsible for the core editorial platform used by 800 journalists to deliver the content and services across a portfolio of over 170 sites on desktop, mobile and social platforms.

The Product Manager will develop ideas and turn them into successful products that drive revenue and audience growth.  The Product Manager will work with the Product Team to develop medium and long term plans, helping to introduce and champion new ideas and practices and will deliver new products and incremental improvements.

The Product manager will take ownership for new and existing products within the portfolio and will be responsible for their success.  This includes defining the product’s roadmap and working with other teams such as UX, developers and business to deliver an MVP. You will be defining clear, detailed requirements that deliver value and you will use a range of tools to spot new opportunities, determine trends and test ideas.

The Person

This is key role within the team and you will be a well-rounded Product Manager looking for a new challenge, working with a range of exciting products.   Ideally you will have a background working in the media, or a similar industry in a Product management role.  You will be knowledgeable about product development and the tools of the trade; agile, user stories, UX and technology.  The Product Manager will have the ability to write clear and concise specs and user stories and will be results and data driven.  You should be able to work with development teams and understand the software development process.  Familiarity with digital product tools e.g. Jira is also desirable, as is an understanding of technical aspects of web publishing (HTML, JS, and CMS).
