Product Manager

We have a fantastic new role of Product Manager available within the Education Product team of an innovative, international EdTech company. This role offers remote working, either home-based in England, or there's the option to be based from the company's office in central Edinburgh, Scotland. As a user-centred Product Manager you will ensure the company's apps and website are intuitive, engaging and stable across the broad range of desktops and devices found in schools. You will need to understand user needs, and you will work with in-house developers to find solutions. As well as responsibilities as Product Manager, you will have Project Management responsibilities too, managing international education pilot projects for instance. With this you will have the opportunity to create a joint product and marketing plan for the project, as well as monitor the progress of the project, and ensure the project objectives are delivered, on time to budget. Working as part of an agile development squad, your responsibilities as Product Manager will be:

  • gather user insights, both from user interactions, and by working with the data science team;
  • analyse and understand insights, to understand and prioritise needs;
  • working with the squad, identify solutions to meet the needs, and test and refine them;
  • help the squad deliver solutions;
  • manage external production work (such as UX design)
  • evaluate solutions against the squad's objectives and key results;
  • work with the Head of Product to implement and develop the company's product strategy;
  • develop and document process and learning.

With exceptional communication skills, the ideal Product Manager will be a user- and solutions-focused team player with solid experience in product management in a software company or equivalent experience in a relevant related sector i.e. an Education or EdTech environment; excellent IT skills and numeracy will be important, and experience of working in an agile software development team will also be really valuable, combined with project management experience. The Product Manager will ideally have a methodical, user-research-led approach to product management, and confidence conducting and managing user research; an interest in and / or passion for education and learning will be highly beneficial!
