Production Controller

Are you a Production Assistant looking for a step up in publishing? A new Production Controller role has opened up in the Production team of a very successful academic publisher, covering a range of print products such as books, journals and promotional materials.

The Production Controller will be responsible for:

• Overseeing print jobs and handling the print distribution process
• Liaising with printers and suppliers, troubleshooting issues that arise around printing and distribution
• Contributing to the review and appraisal process for chosen suppliers, relating appropriate feedback and addressing any issues as needed
• Supporting the print-on-demand programme
• Managing the relationships with printers, arranging regular meetings and follow ups

This role requires knowledge of print production, including a good understanding of print files, litho printing, digital and injket processes. You will be communicating with a range of people involved in the printing and distributing cycle, so will need to demonstrate great interpersonal skills and problem solving.
