Production Controller -- 5 months

Are you looking for a fantastic new role in children's production? A leading trade publisher in London is currently seeking a Children's Production Controller to join their Production team for 5 months. The purpose of the role is to produce reprints and co-edition titles, working to budget, quality and time requirements. You will contribute creatively to product development and new publishing concepts, within specification guidelines.

Key responsibilities will include: maintaining and communicating records throughout the production process so that products are delivered on time; quality checking all printed materials; estimating, preparing and maintaining budgets and working to develop strong and effective relationships with printing partners, suppliers and colleagues in other departments.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of working within a colour repro and print environment, with experience of working with book products. In addition you will have sound knowledge of the technical processes involved in the origination and manufacture of books and books-plus products, non-book and audio products.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in book production with a good understanding of children's publishing and production. With good IT skills, including InDesign , you will be highly organised with excellent attention to detail, with strong relationship building skills, the ability to work independently and to support others in a team, and a calm, positive approach.
