Hours: 35 hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the production team at one of London's leading children's publishers as a Temporary Production Controller for 2 months. The post holder　will have good knowledge of the whole book production process and proven experience　 of working on new colour titles with books. Reporting to the Production　 Manager, the post holder will have hands-on responsibility for the book production and ensuring the　production specifications are met for each title, including quality control, material speck checks and speck knowledge.

The candidate will be resourcing and developing new products from initial concept to confirmed order with particular attention on buying cost effectively for the department. Buying will be across a range of suppliers and taking into account the company’s safety and forestry policy. You will also be expected to collaborate with other departments to provide negotiated costs for co-edition printings, own brand product and off scale reprints to achieve cost saving for all negotiations passing through the procurement team.　The post holder should be an excellent communicator who will be expected to communicate the rationale of their negotiation to the control team who will be controlling manufacturing from confirmed order to final delivered copies. The role would suit some one with experience of 4 colour book publishing, preferably children’s books who is able to work to tight deadlines.
