Production Controller (Childrens)

A leading trade books publisher is looking for a Production Controller to work on a range of children products. This is an exciting opportunity for a Production Assistant/Junior Production Controller to take a step up in their career. The role will suit an individual who is keen to learn, details-oriented and has a good understanding of four-colour printing knowledge.

Key duties:

• Project manage schedules for relevant new titles and reprints from conception to delivery
• Check files on InDesign before going to repro or PDF files checking before going to printers
• Update and communicate schedules effectively to relevant parties and for progress meetings
• Accurately estimate and cost new projects and reprint
• Maintain good relationships with internal team and external suppliers, especially in the Far East
• Assist and advise in development of new projects

Experience / skills required:

• Good understanding of print and book manufacture processes
• Sound experience in the production of wide range of books by a variety of suppliers
• Good interpersonal skills with an ability to build close working relationships
• Demonstrable experience of time management/planning
• Strong passion for children publications
• Knowledge with Biblio and Safety Testing Legislation will be advantageous
