Production Controller - Educational Publishing

A major global publisher of educational resources is looking to recruit a Production Controller to support with the project management through the entire production cycle.  This exciting new role will work within one of their well-known brands, and will closely with the Senior Production Manager, as well as design and editorial colleagues, and will provide high-quality project management across a range of print and digital products. This is a hybrid role with 2 days a month in their Hampshire office.

Some of the key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting project planning, budget and schedule tracking, and all production aspects of your assigned projects, from manuscript to final print or digital output, including books, courses, management systems, eBooks, websites and presentation tools.
• Work with Production and Design suppliers and other departments to commission design work for cover visuals and sample pages.
• Work with Senior Production Manager on costings with suppliers and monitor costs throughout the production process.
• Manage supplier activities, ensuring brand values are met, commissioning page layout, illustrations, and image research.

This is a great new opportunity for someone with experience of working on ELT and/or CTE projects in one or more subject areas, ideally with Ministries of Education.  The successful person will have experience of managing multi-component publishing projects and experience of managing suppliers and freelancers, and a knowledge of the production process. You will have sound PC skills, excellent time management and planning skills and the ability to multi-task.
