Production Controller/Senior Production Controller

An award-winning children’s books publisher is looking for one Production Controller and one Senior Production Controller to join their friendly, busy and fast-expanding production team in their London based offices. This is an excellent opportunity for a Production professional with experience to join this creative children’s publisher and manage their front list and backlist novelty titles.

Key duties:

• Take responsibility for complete novelty list, including front and backlist, mono and 4-colour titles
• Oversee production process from receipt of files through to delivery
• Prepare files for print and coordinate production schedules
• Negotiate print prices to ensure books are produced to budget
• Communicate clearly with in-house departments and external suppliers in the Far East and UK
• Ensure that books are produced on time and meet required quality standards

Experience / skills required:

• Experience in a 4-colour book production role in publishing, novelty experience will be a must for the Senior Production Controller role
• An understanding of the book production process
• Excellent organisation skills with a keen eye for detail and good time-management
• Strong communication skills with the ability to deal with stakeholders at different levels
• Knowledge of Word and Adobe CS
• A proactive, enthusiastic, can-do attitude with a problem solving approach
