Production Controller - Trade Books (Maternity Cover)

Would you like to work for a leading, and highly successful trade publisher within their Children’s production team? We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Controller to join the Children's Production team on a maternity contract. The team produces a variety of well-known Children’s titles, which co-print in numerous languages and whose formats vary from four colour titles to complex novelty titles.

This position offers a unique opportunity to develop and broaden your production skills, commercial awareness and relationship management skills. You will be involved in creating and delivering titles, for both trade and special sales, working across various global markets for your list. You will be responsible for all aspects of your list at all stages including product development, costing, scheduling, delivery, and quality control.

A first-rate communicator adept at building and maintaining relationships with sales, suppliers and creative colleagues alike. You will enjoy the challenges of creatively negotiating to tight margins, have a sharp eye for detail and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team on high volume workloads.

The successful person will have experience from a similar background within book production with proven experience of handling print scheduling and 4-colour print processes within co-edition printing. You will have an understanding of product safety and comfortable with managing high workloads. Experience of product safety and safety testing is desirable, but training will be provided.
