Production Editor (12 month FTC)

Are you looking for a Production Editor role within academic publishing? A friendly, independent scholarly publisher is looking for a production editor for their global journals list, to be based in their London offices. This is a 12-month contract role managing a varied list and we are looking for someone with academic journal or book production experience. In this role you will be responsible for keeping journals and articles to schedule, checking the work of freelance copy-editors and proofreaders, advising supplier managers on journal requirements, managing invoices, supporting academic editors and board members and liaising with other departments at the press.

Key skills required:

• Journal or book production experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Adept at liaising with freelance copyeditors and proof readers
  • Relationship management with authors, academic editors & societies
  • Good time management
  • An eye for detail and basic Word & Excel skills
  • A good understanding of typesetting, printing and design, and online publication
