Production Editor

Our client, a highly reputable publisher of books and journals for professionals, is seeking an organised and self-motivated Production Editor to join their team working on a hybrid basis from their London office, working specifically on a portfolio of professional books in both print and online, responsible for ensuring that material is produced on time, to appropriate quality standards and within budget.

Your main duties will include: managing the production process for a range of books in print and online; copy-edit and proofread material to ensure it meets quality standards; ensure any corrections are incorporated into the finished product; using electronic processes to create and check files; costing projects and the creation of annual production schedules and budgets; and monitoring material for possible quality, legal and technical problems.

The successful candidate will have some production experience, ideally working with books, solid copy editing and proofreading skills, and good IT skills - any experience in particular with XML and CMS would be an advantage. Along with strong communication skills, you will have a highly organised and methodical approach to your work and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and will be comfortable working to tight deadlines. This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate with books production experience to join a vibrant and busy team!

For a full description of the role, please send your CV with a brief paragraph outlining your relevant skills.

Closing Date: Early applications may be prioritised.
