Production Editor

Our client, an award-winning independent publisher, is looking to hire a Production Editor to join their expanding Production team working across all imprints, including both Adult and Children's lists.

This is a unique chance to be part of a dynamic independent publishing team known for its exceptional books and authors. The ideal candidate will have experience in trade publishing with a mix of book production and editorial, with a passion for brilliant stories, design and a strong interest in independent publishing. Key attributes include creativity, self-motivation, excellent organisational and time management skills, and strong communication abilities. Attention to detail and a positive, efficient approach to administrative tasks are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production Management: Oversee the entire production process from text delivery to finished copies and ebooks, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and high-quality output.
• Collaborative Support: Assist the Publishing Operations Director on various titles including fiction, non-fiction, children's books, and picture books.
• Metadata Improvement: Enhance and manage metadata for various titles.
• Liaison and Relationship Building: Maintain relationships with sales, design, marketing, and publicity teams, as well as authors, translators, and freelancers.
• Administrative Duties: Handle administrative tasks related to production, including email and phone queries.
