Production Editor

This is an exciting time for a Production Editor to join the expanding legal division of a well-established independent publisher based in Oxford. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious individual to work on key titles and a growing list.

Key duties:

  • Guide titles through the production process from procurement of transcripts to delivery of final files
  • Oversee fortnightly print editions and online publishing to schedule and budget
  • Manage teams of freelance editorial suppliers and prepress suppliers
  • Work closely with Production colleagues as well as other in-house departments and freelance suppliers

Experience / skills required:

  • Production-editorial experience is essential for this role
  • You must have proven copy-editing and proof-reading skills
  • Experience in a professional or legal publishing environment would be an advantage
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills are essential
  • Excellent IT skills (knowledge of Word essential and familiarity with Adobe products desirable)
  • Knowledge of XML-first workflows is highly desirable
