Do you have a high level of literacy and attention to detail, with some experience of proofreading?

Do you have some knowledge of InDesign as well as some print and online production processes, or a willingness to learn?

We have a great new role for a Production Editor to work for a highly respected membership organisation in their production department. This role is initially a three-month contract with a view to going permanent.  The Production Editor will be responsible for helping with the delivery of learning and assessment materials, involving all stages of production.

Reporting to the Lead Production Editor this role will involve:

  • Typesetting and proofreading content
  • Preparing materials for publication in print and online formats
  • Admin tasks
  • Liaising with printers to ensure materials are delivered on time and book in print jobs
  • Process print orders and invoices
  • Liaise closely with Commissioning/Content Editors and learning technologists to determine format and schedule requirements

Proofreading is a large part of this role so a keen eye for detail is essential.  The successful person will have:

  • A high level of literacy and attention to detail, as well as strong organisational skills.
  • Experience of proofreading documents
  • The ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
  • A knowledge of InDesign and some experience of print and online production processes is desirable.  Some training on InDesign can be provided.
