Production Editors

We have three exciting opportunities to join a fast-paced journals production team as a Production Editor with a global publisher in the Oxford area.  The production Editors will be responsible for building key relationships with external stakeholders, working across a large portfolio of journals.

The Production Editor will report to the Production Manager and key responsibilities will include:

  • Quality checking articles and issues against style and checklists
  • Liaising with editors to obtain copy for publication to agreed schedules
  • Monitoring and managing supplier performance and providing feedback
  • Analysing errors and defects to improve quality standards
  • Ensuring article and issue publication runs to agreed schedules and page budgets
  • Improving workflows to ensure best standards

This is a great opportunity for someone with great customer service skills, or a Production Assistant looking for the next step and an opportunity to work in an enthusiastic and dynamic team where you will receive training and the chance to develop the role.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Great customer service skills, with previous customer service experience, or experience within a publishing environment
  • Good IT skills
  • Adaptability and happy to work in a fast-paced department
  • The passion to join a leading publisher where you will learn all about the publishing process
  • The ability to manage your own time and able to prioritise tasks
  • Great written and verbal skills
